Louis Vopata, MA, Professional Counselor Associate

Hey. My name is Louis, and I am a professional counseling associate putting some roots down into the Rogue Valley. I come from humble beginnings on a farmstead in Northeastern Kansas. Once a critic of a simple and stoic beginning, I now reminisce with love for the steadfast values, gratitude for life’s simple joys, perseverance through difficulty, and earnest interest in the wellbeing of others that this time afforded me. I went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kansas State University before recently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Arkansas.

I believe my greatest strengths lie in my personal growth, genuine and personable care for others, and intellectual curiosity in finding and providing new avenues to healing. I believe the groundwork of successful therapy relies on authentic relating and understanding. As a safe container for work develops, I urge my clients to touch and see the hard, pained, and hidden moments of their experience. Opening to the unpleasantness and shadows of life will release you from their chains and reward you with peace and freedom. Whatever that may look like to you, however you are navigating life, I am here to support your creative process of self-discovery and health management.

While not on the job, I love a good road trip, will bury myself into a book, strum away on a guitar, or hang out with the close friends and family who bring joy to my life.
